Astounded by the untouched lakeside acreage surrounding Six Mile Ranch, the original developer purchased the Tobiano property in 1996 and moved from Toronto to live here in this vast open setting. He had big plans - starting with his own home at Tobiano - an award-winning example of post-and-beam architecture that fits perfectly within its natural surroundings.

Applying his development experience and success to the vision of Tobiano, the original developer began the process of shepherding Tobiano through a labyrinth of reviews and approvals, expanding the Six-Mile alfalfa hayfields, improving the ranch's irrigation systems, building the first marina on Kamloops Lake and initiated the design and construction of the soon-to-be opened Tobiano golf course - all before the first selection of resort homes were offered for sale.
